Role: Senior SQL Developer

Location: Predominantly remote, with occasional travel to Cardiff
Contract Length: 6 months, with the option to extend

Day rate £185 per day Inside IR35

About the Role

We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and motivated SQL Developer to join our Software Applications Team. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will:

• Work in structured Scrum teams under experienced leads
• Deliver individual software components
• Be involved in MS SQL Server development, including design, implementation, and performance optimisation
• Broaden your skills through collaboration and mentorship

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise MS SQL Server databases (design, implementation, performance tuning)
• Write complex T-SQL stored procedures and functions to support application development
• Work within an Agile Scrum team, delivering high-quality database solutions
• Utilise SQL Server Management Studio (##########9) and SSIS packages#####08+) for data workflows
• Contribute to database normalisation and ER-diagramming for efficient database design

• Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong T-SQL skills, with experience writing stored procedures and functions
  • Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studi##########2019)
  • Experience creating and using SSIS packa#####(2008+)
  • Expertise in database design, including normalisation and ER-diagramming

  Desirable Skills:

  🔸 Experience with XML Web Services or Web APIs.
  🔸 Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, SOAP UI).
  🔸 Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Azure DevOps, TFS).
  🔸 Exposure to Microsoft Azure Cloud services.
  🔸 Understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR).
  🔸 Proficiency with Redgate SQL developer tools and performance tuning solutions.
  🔸 Experience with High Availability (Mirroring, Replication, Clustering, Always On).
  🔸 Power BI skills for data visualization and reporting.

  Working Arrangements:

  Reporting to Senior Product Specialist
  6-month contract, with potential extension
  Remote-first role, with occasional travel to Cardiff
